The Election: Results, Predictions, And The Challenge Of The Road Ahead
The Body of Christ misses an opportunity to Restore America

November 9, 2012

Just over 119 million Americans cast ballots for Barack Obama and Mitt Romney
in the November 6th General Election. 132 million cast ballots for Barack Obama and John McCain in 2008, a 13 million vote difference.

With nearly 98% of the ballots counted as of 5AM CST today, 61,170,405 votes were cast for Barack Obama and 58,163,977 were cast for Mitt Romney.

In the 2008 General Election John McCain received 58,343,671 votes,179,674 more votes than Mitt Romney.

Whereas Barack Obama received 6 million fewer votes than in 2008 in spite of non stop campaign efforts after the 2008 election with offices in every major metropolitan area of the nation, and his margin of victory was 7 percentage points over John McCain, his margin of victory over Mitt Romney was only 2 percentage points, 50% to 48%.

Born-again/Evangelical voters were 24% of the electorate (28,640,251) and while
79% (22,625,799) voted for Romney, 20% (5,728,050), in defiance or ignorance of clear biblical teaching of the God whom they profess to follow, voted for Barack Obama, the most anti biblical, pro-abortion, pro-gay agenda, pro-european socialism, and anti American president in history!

In June of 2011, after a great deal of research, and review of Evangelical participation in past elections, I prepared the below chart that has been posted on the Restore America homepage for more than a year. The predictions follow closely what occurred with the election altering exception of increased Evangelical Turnout.

The chart and actual voting numbers clearly show how this election could have proven much different if Evangelical Christians had responded to the exhaustive efforts of Family Research Council, Wallbuilders, Focus On The Family Action, Gary Bauer's American Values, Champion The Vote, United In Purpose, and Restore America, to increase the Evangelical Turnout over the 2008 general election by at least 3 million of the 25 million who are eligible to vote but do not vote from election to election.

By our collective refusal, from pulpit to pew, including denominational leadership, to make every effort to engage - as did those who worked tirelessly to register and turnout their voters for Barack Obama - we Christians turned our backs on the greatest opportunity to change the trajectory of America back to the vision, values and principles of good government laid out in the Judeo Christian Scriptures and embedded in our Constitution by the Founders. By doing so, every freedom we hold dear and which patriotic Americans fought, bled, and died for for over two centuries, will be overridden by foolish men elected by a foolish electorate and apathetic Evangelical community wanting government aid more than the blessing of their creator.

We are no longer a nation governed by God.

By our own negligence and carelessness we have chosen by our absence in the voting booth to be led by unprincipled, arrogant, and misguided men. God help us as we seek to inform, challenge, inspire, and mobilize the people of God in the months ahead lest we find ourselves, our children, and the Gospel, enslaved once again as subjects, not citizens, in Babylon.

So sad to say that our country has chosen a President who has no regard for our Christian beliefs by promoting homosexual marriage and the killing of babies via Abortion. I know that President Obama is just a sad reflection of a majority of people who have no regard for GOD’s view on marriage or human life.

Our country is in need of JESUS to save us. My prayer is that our entire nation will humble themselves and pray and seek His [GOD's] face and turn from their wicked ways, then He [GOD] will hear from Heaven, forgive their sins and heal their land (2 Chronicles 7:14).

If our nation does not repent of sin, then GOD will likely bring curses on our nation like Israel faced in the Old Testament of The Holy Bible (see Deuteronomy 28:15-68).

We must repent of our sins and ask JESUS to be our SAVIOR before it is too late or suffer the consequence of being separated from GOD forever (Hell). To learn more about JESUS, visit the web sites www.needGOD.com and www.needHim.org and/or call toll free 24/7 1-888-NeedHim.

Religious Liberty Update
By Michael Oswald, J.D., Boise, Idaho

President Obama’s reelection means that his administration will almost certainly continue to implement the mandate that all employers (with one very narrow “religious employer” exception) provide health insurance that funds abortion-inducing drugs. Employers who wish to exercise their Constitutionally-protected right to freely exercise their religion will be put to the horrible choice of violating their religious principles, paying massive fines, or going out of business.

Alan Sears is the President, CEO, and General Counsel of Alliance Defending Freedom. The day after the elections, he sent the following letter to all 2,200 lawyers who volunteer their time to defend religious liberty across the United States. I am one of those attorneys. Please pray that we will carry out our duties in a manner that glorifies The Lord!

Dear Allied Attorney,

The ballots have been counted, and President Obama has been re-elected. We are now left to face the consequences of the election.

In the coming weeks and months, the Obama Administration will be emboldened like never before to intensify its attacks on our religious liberty, the sanctity of life, marriage and family, and our nation's Constitution.

What you've seen up until now is just a taste of what's to come. The platform of the President's party and his outrageous promises to Planned Parenthood, advocates of homosexual behavior, and countless special interests assure us of this. The Obama Administration will continue trampling on our faith and liberty by:

1. Funneling hundreds of millions more taxpayer dollars to Planned Parenthood – which consistently encourages abortion and is the nation's largest abortion provider.
2. Forcing Christian employers to either abandon their faith or pay staggering fines that will likely put them out of business.
3. Refusing to defend the federal Defense of Marriage Act, while advocating for same-sex "marriage."
4. Pushing the homosexual agenda on our children in public schools.
5. Appointing more and more liberal, activist judges. And so much more...

This presidential election could have more consequences for our religious freedom and the future of America than any previous election in our nation's 236-year history.

So we have a simple choice that has never been so clear: We can saddle up and fight, or we can wring our hands and surrender and give our liberty away by default.

Those who depend on Alliance Defending Freedom to protect their religious liberty, the sanctity of life, and the preservation of the family have never been more in need of our extraordinary network of Allied Attorneys. We know you are in this fight because it is important to you, and that your hearts are united with us in a cause and not merely a case. With the Lord's mercy and your help, we will continue to stand against the Obama Administration and its radical anti-Judeo-Christian allies every step of the way – and, as a team, we will win many more "impossible" cases.

We need to stand together in fervent prayer as never before.

Apart from Christ, we can do nothing (John 15:5). But God enables those He calls, and He has called Alliance Defending Freedom and our Allied Attorneys for such a time as this.

We cannot and will not sit idly by and watch America's history and heritage of religious freedom be taken away. Please continue to stand with us - fighting effectively for faith, for justice, and for future generations in our great nation under God.

Yours for religious freedom in America,

Alan Sears

Mat Staver Reflects on the Election, Future of America
Source: www.lc.org

The event we have just witnessed was far more than a general election – it was a referendum on the soul of America. We grieve today like we have lost a friend or a close relative. Millions of Americans looked evil in the eye and adopted it. Some Christian observers called the Democratic Party platform for 2012 a “Romans 1 Platform,” and they were right. Abortion, same-sex marriage, and immorality carried the day.

The great values on which America was founded were set aside because of selfishness unbalanced by biblical truth and commitment to Jesus Christ. Race and ethnicity overrode values. The America we love is sick and needs renewal and healing. Under these circumstances, it is okay to grieve. But, after we have grieved, we must press forward.

God is not through with our nation! God calls us to remain faithful, no matter the consequences.

We might be a Bonhoeffer in Nazi Germany who never lived to see the fruit of his faithful labor. We might be a Wilberforce in England who saw the fruit of his labor (the abolition of slavery and reformation of morals), but died soon after, never getting the chance to enjoy the results. We might even be a David who stood up against popular opinion and defeated a giant who blasphemed God Almighty. No matter what our lot might be, we are called to be faithful!

We have a higher calling than the world. Our calling and our values do not depend on a survey or an election. Whether we are on the verge of revival or are soon to face the death chamber makes no difference in how we respond or how we act. Our obedience is to Christ and to Christ alone!

The world hated Jesus, and it is no surprise the world hates the followers of Christ. But, be of good cheer! The Lord Jesus Christ has overcome the world and is seated on His throne. Without Christ we are nothing. We are lost and have no hope. And although I grieve for a season, yet I have hope because of Christ!

God is still in control. But the choices people make have consequences. He is in control throughout the narrative of Deuteronomy 28. He is also in control in versus 1-14, where Scripture speaks of the blessings that will come to a nation if a nation follows God and keeps His commandments. And, He is in control in Deuteronomy 25:15 and following, where the Holy text speaks of the curses that come for not obeying God. Either way, He is in control! Either way, no matter what the populace does, we are not allowed to waiver and must remain steadfast.

We will no doubt see and feel the consequences of this election. More children will die. Marriage will come under greater attack. Immorality will be exalted. Sadly, the country could easily collapse under the weight of escalating economic debt. Islam will be emboldened. Our military will become weaker. Israel will not have as strong an ally as it needs at this critical time. The world will become a more dangerous place. These are all consequences that follow national actions like the ones we have just witnessed. But, when you are down, that is the time to fight all the harder!

There is NOTHING impossible for God. He is calling on His people to serve Him, and He will not abandon His people! God has called you and me for such a time as this. God is not surprised by these events. So, to reiterate, it is okay to grieve because what has happened is indeed sad. But, we cannot go on grieving. We must arise and remember Whom we serve. God will not be mocked and His justice will not sleep forever!

In the midst of your grief, I want to encourage you. Our eyes must remain focused on the Lord and not on the crashing waves. How can we remain down when we are redeemed by the blood of the Lamb? How can we remain sad when Almighty God knows our name? How can we be uncertain when we know Who wrote the last chapter of the Book?

May the peace of the Lord be with you. Be encouraged. Remain strong.

God bless you,

Elijah Ministires Post Election Thoughts
By Rev. Rusty Thomas

Dear Champion of the Lord and the Preborn,

1) God just told America to assume the position once again. He is not done spanking us for our Obamanations.

2) A nation can survive foolish wicked rulers. It cannot survive a foolish wicked people that vote to empower them. As Pogo stated, "We have met the enemy and it is us." What the public schools have done to the American mind is a crime that screams to the heavens.

3) Our nation is polarized and becoming more ripe for civil strife. Soon the lower magistate may have to step in to act as a check and balance to the tyranny of the federal beast. It could get very dangerous as America heads off the financial cliff.

4) So much now is outside our control. We must adopt the position of Joshua in our day. He stated, "Now therefore, fear the Lord, serve Him in sincerity and in truth, and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the River and in Egypt. Serve the Lord! And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord" Joshua 24:14, 15).

In other words, America you may choose to go head long into idolatry, perversion, corruption and the cult of celebrity worship to serve the new gods of this modern era, but as for me and my house we will serve the
Lord!!!

Here is where every Christian who names the name of Christ needs to stand and having done all continue to stand. And if we go down with this nation, we go down standing up for our Lord.

America pronounces judgment on itself
Exclusive: Joseph Farah on Obama election: 'It's time to double-down and fight harder'

Source: wnd.com

For many of us, the unthinkable has happened.

America has decisively turned the corner away from the constitutional principles of limited government and self-government with the re-election of Barack Obama.

For those of us who fundamentally reject Obama’s policies, things are going to get very rough for the next four years. We have allowed our fellow Americans to pronounce judgment on the nation.

That’s what Obama represents to me – God’s judgment on a people who have turned away from Him and His ways and from everything for which our founders sacrificed their lives, their fortunes and their sacred honor.

The nation is divided like never before – intentionally so. That has been Obama’s game plan from the beginning – to build a constituency of special-interest groups that truly believe their salvation is found in bigger government, more programs, irresponsible spending and unconstitutional policies.

This election could very well represent the beginning of the end of the American Dream, American exceptionalism, the American way.

But it’s no time to give up – to throw up our hands in disgust and walk away
from politics. Neither is it time to surrender to the radical social agenda
Obama has championed to win his victory.

It’s time to change tactics.

It’s time to double-down and fight harder.

It’s time to raise our collective voices of outrage.

It’s time to form new alliances.

It’s time to form new communities of people who understand just how much
Americans have been disenfranchised from our God-given rights and
responsibilities.

But, at the end of the day, people generally get the kind of government they
deserve.

When you turn away from the ways of God Almighty, this is what you should
expect, if you are a student of the Bible and history.

I’m not going to lie to you.

I think things are going to get very tough in America over the next four
years.

I expect more division, more stratification, maybe even the disintegration
of the constitutional republic that was the envy of the world for so long.

It’s time to hunker down.

It’s time to prepare for the worst – economically, militarily, socially,
culturally.

The revolutionaries have won a major political victory.

The America haters are running the country for another four years.

That is not a pretty prospect.

But it’s not time to retreat. It’s time for those of us who love what
America has been for most of its history to gather our wits and begin the
long march back.

Most of all, it’s time for collective repentance.

Only a miracle can save us – and we need to humble ourselves before God and
pray hard for one.

Can we find our way home? Is the political system even viable for us
anymore? Has our heritage of representative government been permanently
robbed from us? Are our cultural institutions – from the press to the
schools and universities to the major foundations and even our churches –
let us down so badly that there is no hope of restoring the America we once
knew and loved?I don’t know the answers to these questions.

But we must not retreat. We must not hide. We must not be intimidated. We
must not stop fighting for truth, justice and the American way.

Maybe we deserve this punishment for taking our lifestyles for granted.
Maybe we deserve this judgment for our own individual and collective sins.
Maybe there’s still time to turn things around because we serve a Creator of
second and third chances.

One thing is for certain: Our national condition is going to get much worse
before it gets better.

Risky Election Post Mortem
By Christopher G. Adamo, Wheatland, Wyoming
Source: www.chrisadamo.com

The delight of leftists over winning Tuesday’s election and granting Barack Obama four more years in which to wreak his havoc on the nation will only be rivaled by their glee in the upcoming weeks as they offer yet more “advice” to our side on how to achieve victory in the future. The short answer is, of course, that the GOP must promise to govern like liberals. This is the core of their “wisdom” on every occasion, and whenever aspiring Republican candidates accept it, electoral disaster is all but guaranteed.

Worse yet, this transparent effort is almost invariably aided and abetted by the entrenched “moderates” of the GOP establishment, many of whom abhor conservative principle, and are themselves devoted to gaining acceptance from the opposition. This, we are told, is the essence of “compromise” and “bipartisanship,” the net result of which is that regardless of which party holds the reins of power at the highest levels of government, liberals somehow still remain in control of the agenda.

Not surprisingly, it is also these establishment Republicans who do their best to sift real conservatives from the field of candidates by flatly announcing who is “electable” and who is not. Interestingly, since 1996, three of their four chosen candidates did not prove to be at all “electable.” Yet it is absolutely predictable that the GOP “experts” will again be on hand in upcoming elections to make their defining pronouncements of who should get to play, and who should drop out.

In the 1976 presidential race, the Republican Party machinery was fervently opposed to the nomination of Ronald Reagan, and rallied around quasi incumbent Gerald Ford, on the basis that Ford was more electable, which inexorably led to the disaster of Jimmy Carter. Fortunately for America and the world, four years later grassroots Republicans rejected their party leaders’ advice and put Reagan into the White House, whereupon he turned the economy around, revamped an inexcusably flawed tax system, rebuilt the military, and restored America’s languishing standing on the world stage.

Admittedly, the America of 2012 is a very different place from what it was in 1980. However, this fact can easily be misconstrued (or perhaps purposefully misrepresented by the enemies of conservatism) in order to reach conclusions that might propel the Republican Party further onto a self-defeating course. The only sure defense against such a prospect is to recognize the basis on which conservative principle has been established, namely the promotion of a wholesome and healthy society for the betterment of the nation and its citizens, and commit to remaining on that course regardless of how it is mischaracterized by liberal propagandists. The alternative is to pander, by sporadically upholding or abandoning the principles of conservatism, based not on their inherent worthiness, but on their perceived attractiveness or disfavor among the popular culture.

Furthermore, the nature of liberalism is such that it can gather a following from philosophically disparate constituencies, as long as each is bestowed its portion from the public trough. In contrast, conservatism is founded on a well-defined and ideologically consistent set of precepts. Any attempts by party pragmatists to selectively jettison its standards are rightly perceived by the voting base as ideological compromise. And in a contest to garner votes by promising “benefits” to the electorate, liberals will invariably win since they are always more willing to rob from one citizen in order to purchase the devotion of another.

So what significance does this discussion hold in regards to former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney’s failed run for the White House, and the lessons that future candidates might glean from it? Overwhelmingly, the real issue at hand has been completely overlooked, which makes it increasingly likely that philosophically rudderless Republican insiders will once again be looking in all the wrong directions for useful information.

Since Tuesday evening, Mitt Romney has been criticized and second-guessed for virtually every decision he made as a candidate, from his choice of Paul Ryan as VP (Ryan was too conservative), to his deliberate avoidance of the Benghazi situation in the final debate. Worst of all is that this profound hindsight is coming mostly from the right. Yet when the real picture of the 2012 race and this nation’s current condition are considered, these negative appraisals of the Romney campaign ultimately prove irrelevant.

For a disturbing but enlightening glimpse of the America that reelected Barack Obama, one need only go ontoYouTube and revisit that abhorrent visage known as the “Obama Phone” lady. In less than a minute, objective viewers can clearly witness the mindset of an individual who has no interest in the future of the nation, no notion of the need for America to produce and advance economically, no concern over the threats to its security from hostile forces abroad, and no intention of finding an opportunity to make a better life for herself.

Rather, she lauds the ostensible generosity of the Obama Administration for its willingness to hand out free cell phones to a list of special interests which she readily recites. This is the full extent and manner on which she bases her choice of who should be leader of the free world. Among the vaunted “young people,” the picture is much the same. With no care or understanding of the repercussions of profligate government spending on themselves and their children, college age voters are indoctrinated throughout their years in the classrooms to support candidates who promise them access to the national treasury in order to pay mushrooming tuition costs. Here again, in a toe-to-toe contest of fiscal recklessness, Democrats will always win. Thus any principled Republican candidate has nothing to gain, and everything to lose, by attempting to compete against them in that manner.

If America has truly crossed the threshold into moral bankruptcy and socialism, Republicans will do little to aid it, or their party’s political fortunes, by seeking to jump on the bandwagon while claiming to travel at a slower pace. However, the results of this election, though delivering the extremely unfortunate consequence of four more years of Barack Obama in the White House, do not represent an irreversible denunciation of the flag-waving Americanism that was so dominant just two years ago in the 2010 mid-terms. On that occasion, it was the unambiguous presentation of a pro-family, pro-American, pro-Constitution platform that carried the day.

The nation’s present track promises dire consequences on the fiscal, social, and economic fronts. But eventually a sufficient portion of the populace will awaken from its stupor and commit to restoring the societal and governing sanity that blessed and prospered it in the past. Republicans can stay the course and be ready to lead at that point or, if they have opted to follow the advice of unprincipled party insiders, will be scrambling to disavow their short-sighted abandonment of the American ideal.
