The Co founder of Shiloh Counseling Center is Dr. Anthony Harper of Boise, Idaho. Dr. Harper has dedicated himself to providing quality Christian counseling services for the economically disadvantaged since 1987. *JESUS deserves the credit for being the Founder of anything good. Dr. Harper is a Southern Baptist Chaplain/Ordained Minister with a Doctorate degree in Psychology from California Coast University. Anthony also has a Master's degree in General Guidance and Counseling from The College of Idaho (now called Albertson College of Idaho) with post-Master's graduate work in counseling from Liberty University and has passed the National Counselor Examination. His undergraduate Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Studies was completed at The University of The State of New York in Albany, New York. Dr. Harper is listed in the Second Edition (1998 issue) of Who's Who in Medicine and Healthcare. While working in the trenches, Dr. Harper has seen a real need for a nonprofit hospital facility for young people dangerously careening down the dark path of mental illness to depression and suicide. It's a road he personally knows too well; he used to be one of the Lost Children. Dr. Harper experienced clinical depression as a child with symptoms of extreme moodiness and feelings of worthlessness. He lacked funds, and the available treatment was inadequate. Through the grace of God, Dr. Harper finally did find relief. As a survivor, Dr. Harper possesses an intimate and unique understanding of the severely mentally ill population and treatment options. His early experience has motivated him to provide a healthier treatment alternative.
2 Timothy 1:7 (King James Version) "For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind." Psalms 40:1-3 (The Book - a special edition of the Living Bible) "I waited patiently for God to help me; then He listened and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the pit of despair, out from the bog and the mire, and set my feet on a hard, firm path and steadied me as I walked along. He has given me a new song to sing, of praises to our God........."
